Project Description
- Located on the Middle Green River on the boundary between the City of Auburn and unincorporated King County
- Project is part of Salmon Habitat Plan project MG-18 (page 7-50)
- Site is owned by the City of Auburn and is publicly accessible
- Project construction occurred in 2008 and included excavation and removal of 700 linear feet of the old Fenster levee (revetment) and construction of a low, revegetated bench and gently sloping riverbank to provide overhanging vegetation, accommodate floodwaters, and reduce floodwater velocity along the bank
- Project is adjacent to a 2004 project that removed a failed culvert and replaced a portion of the levee with a revegetated bench

Importance for Salmon
- This stretch of river provides rearing habitat and is a migration corridor for all Chinook and other salmonids produced upstream
- This site is at the lower end of a series of publicly-owned properties that provide good salmon habitat
- The project will improve refuge for young fish from high flows that would otherwise push them downstream
